Initiated by Akbar in his lifetime but accomplished by his son Jahangir, this tomb of Akbar features unique architecture comprising of a gateway with four marble minarets on the four corners, which are believed to be the inspiration behind the four minarets of the Taj.

One of the earliest Mughal Gardens in the country, Ram Bagh was laid out by Emperor Babur. Lay three kilometers upstream from Itmad-ud-daulah’s tomb, the garden is believed to have used to bury Babur’s body temporarily before permanently shifting his remains to Kabul, Afghanistan.
